Women in Tech – Breaking The Bias at Aarav Solutions

Women in Tech - Breaking The Bias at Aarav Solutions

The hard-hitting truth of the global technology landscape is the bias towards women. The ratio of men to women in engineering is 5:1* where the majority of women in tech (78%)* feel that they must work harder than their male co-workers to prove their worth and are more likely to face gender bias for growth.

At Aarav Solutions, our core belief lies in equal opportunities for growth for every member of the organization. Yes, we agree the global numbers are devastating but are we doing anything to close that gap? This question is the cornerstone of every decision we make for the growth of our people. This International Women’s Day provides us the right opportunity to share some initiatives where Aarav Solutions is #BreakingTheBias.

Rethink, Rework and Reboot – Career in IT

Women face bias of bro-culture at every stage of their career. Be it the undergraduate programs, the early stages of a career, or breaking the glass ceiling. At Aarav Solutions, we understand this inherent bias and we have collectively worked towards #BreakingtheBias.

  • Women in tech Reboot: Woot! Initiative

‘Change is the only constant in Life’, it may sound cliché to quote this, but it’s the hard-hitting reality of women in the workforce and especially in tech. Women are the center of life and often their careers take a back seat, and they get busy with weaving and rearing the new life. When they are ready the biggest bias, they face is the gap in their resume, where their previous skills, experience, and knowledge are forgotten. With Woot Initiative, Aarav Solutions is trying to break the bias and bring the women in tech with career gaps back to the workforce. To know more about open career opportunities please check our website and social media channels. We are rooting for you! Woot!

  • Attaining Work-Life Balance

Since our inception, we had a vision and practice to nurture an environment for members of the Aarav Solutions family to feel safe and trusted, a culture to support them when they need it. Especially, our organization leaders have nurtured a work environment where anyone can bring their ‘whole self’ to work, not just their ‘work self,’ which maximizes their potential and contribution to the organization. This, in turn, creates a powerful environment where all employees, irrespective of their gender, are set up for success.

Let’s have a look at what our team member Prabha Muthusamy has to say about Aarav Solutions and leadership team,

“Everyone knows the hectic life of a new mother. But only a few understand and support it. Like every new mom, my schedule was also restless with added responsibilities of motherhood. As my maternity leave got over I asked my superiors to change the project suitable to my new life. Yet again, their gentle responses were “Yeah we understand, we will try to do our best to find you the new project” And, as they promised, a new project was in my hands.”

  • An Equal Opportunity for Growth

At Aarav Solutions, we are committed to building a workplace where everyone has equal rights, equal access to education, equal pay for equal work, and an equal opportunity to succeed. We are committed to ensuring that Aarav Solutions tends to be a place that truly welcomes everyone regardless of their gender, community, or religion. As we often say, we believe that the businesses are platforms for change and so are the people who work there.

  • A Community for Growth: LeanIn Circle

We know it is not easy to break the bias and barriers on our own. We need a support system of like-minded people who can understand our ambitions, can be our sounding board in need of the hour, and guide & mentor us through success. Hence, here we are launching our own LeanIn Circle – Accelerate @ Aarav Solutions. The circle is open for all the members of the organization who would like to accelerate their careers or would like to be the guiding light and become mentors. Join us here
